Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is an organisation under Government of India to recruit staff for various posts in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in Subordinate Offices. Staff Selection Commission has its headquarters located at New Delhi. At present, it has seven Regional offices at Prayagraj, Mumbai, Kolkata, Guwahati, Chennai, Bangalore and New Delhi. It also has two Sub- Regional offices at Raipur and Chandigarh.

SSC Exam Notifications:

SSC CGL is a national-level exam conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to shortlist candidates for Group-B and -C posts in various ministries/departments/organisations of the Government of India. Every year, about 30 lakh candidates fill the SSC CGL application form and about 15 lakh aspirants appear for the exam.

The Staff Selection Commission conducts the exam in four stages called tiers. The first two tiers of the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam are conducted in online mode. The next two tiers of the exam are held in offline mode. Check SSC CGL exam pattern.

SSC CGL Eligibility 2020

SSC CGL 2020 eligibility criteria vary as per the post applied by the candidate. However, given below is the basic criteria that candidates need to fulfill in order to meet SSC CGL eligibility:

  • A candidate must be either a citizen of India, a person of India origin, subject of Nepal/Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee
  • A candidate should be between 18 and 30 years in age
  • A candidate should complete bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or institute

    SSC CGL 2020 Recruitment Process

    SSC CGL recruitment process 2020 includes the following stages/tiers:

    • SSC CGL application form: Firstly, candidates need to fill the SSC CGL application form in online mode on the official website of the commission. The SSC CGL application fee is Rs 100.
    • SSC CGL tier-I admit card: All candidates whose applications are accepted by Staff Selection Commission can then download their SSC CGL admit card for tier-I exam from the official regional websites of the commission as per the prescribed schedule. 
    • SSC CGL tier-I exam: SSC CGL tier-I is a computer-based exam that contains objective-type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of 200 marks. 
    • SSC CGL tier-I result: SSC CGL result is declared by Staff Selection Commission on its official website. The result contains the names and/or roll numbers of candidates qualifying the tier-I exam. Candidates clearing the tier-I paper are called to appear for tier-II exam.
    • SSC CGL tier-II admit card: All qualifying candidates can download their SSC CGL admit card for tier-II from the official regional websites. The admit card is typically released about one week before the exam. 
    • SSC CGL tier-II exam: SSC CGL tier-II is again a computer-based exam that is divided into four papers. Each paper contains 100 MCQs of 200 marks. 
    • SSC CGL tier-II result: SSC CGL result for tier-II is declared on the official website of the commission in the form of a merit list. Candidates clearing the tier-II exam are called to appear for tier-III paper.
    • SSC CGL tier-III admit card: All qualifying candidates again need to download their CGL admit card from the regional SSC websites as per the prescribed schedule.
    • SSC CGL tier-III exam: SSC CGL tier-III is a pen-and-paper based exam that is descriptive in nature. 
    • SSC CGL tier-III result: Similar to tier-I and -II result, candidates can check SSC CGL result for tier-III also in online mode on the official website. Candidates clearing the tier-III exam need to appear for the final stage – tier-IV.
    • SSC CGL tier-IV admit card: Like admit card for other tiers, SSC CGL tier-IV admit card is also available for download on the regional websites of Staff Selection Commission,
    • SSC CGL tier-IV exam: In tier-IV, SSC conducts either a computer proficiency test, skill test or document verification, as per the post applied by the candidate. SSC CGL tier-IV is only a qualifying paper. It means that marks scored by candidates in tier-IV are not calculated at the time of declaration of final result. 
    • Final SSC CGL result: Final SSC CGL result is announced based on candidates’ performance in tier-I, tier-II and tier-III exams. All qualifying candidates are then allotted Group-B and -C posts in various ministries/departments/organisations of the Government of India.

      SSC CGL Vacancies 2020

      SSC CGL vacancy list is released by Staff Selection Commission every year. SSC CGL vacancies 2020-21 have not been released by the commission yet. However, for SSC CGL 2019-20, total 9,488 vacancies have been released. Out of these, 8,582 vacancies are for the major 34 Group-B and -C posts.

      SSC CGL Exam Analysis 2020

      The SSC CGL tier-I 2019-20 exam was conducted from March 3-9, 2020 at different test centres across India. The exam was conducted in online mode as a computer-based test in three shifts per day. 

      The overall difficulty level of the first shift of SSC CGL tier-I 2020 exam was easy to moderate. Candidates could attempt all questions in the exam easily. However, some candidates could not manage time well in the exam. Check the section-wise difficulty level of SSC CGL exam below:

SSC CHSL Eligibility 2020

The basic criteria that candidates need to meet in order to fulfill SSC CHSL eligibility 2020 are:

  • A candidate must be either/or a citizen of India, subject of Nepal/Bhutan, Tibetan refugee, person of Indian origin
  • A candidate must be aged between 18 and 27 years as on January 1, 2020
  • A candidate should clear class XII or equivalent from a recognised board or university
  • A candidate appearing for his/her final class XII exams are also eligible to apply

SSC JE Eligibility 2020

SSC JE eligibility criteria differ as per the post applied by a candidate. However, the basic parameters that candidates need to fulfill in order to meet SSC JE 2020 eligibility criteria are:

  • Nationality/citizenship: A candidate must be either a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan or a Tibetan Refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962 or an Indian who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East Africa countries
  • Educational qualification: A candidate should complete his/her degree/diploma in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical engineering as on January 1, 2020
  • Age limit: A candidate should be aged maximum 32 years as on January 1, 2020

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts an open competitive computer-based exam to select candidates for Sub-Inspector (SI) in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). Departmental candidates among Constable, Head Constables and Assistant Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police with a minimum three years in service can also apply for the exam. The age of such candidates should not be more than 30 years (33 years for OBC and 35 years for SC/ST). The details of the posts and salary structure are given below.

SSC CPO 2020 Notification 

SSC CPO 2020 notification had been released on June 17. Earlier, the notification was scheduled to be released on April 19. However, it was delayed due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. The notification contains all details regarding the exam in PDF form.

SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria 2020

Candidates need to fulfill the following eligibility criteria.

Age Limit: The age of candidates should be between 20 to 25 years. Relaxation in the upper age limit of five years is provided to SC/ST candidates and three years to OBC and Ex-Servicemen categories.

Educational Qualification: Any graduate candidates can apply for SSC SI exam.
