Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC)


Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission, publicly known as MPPSC is a state government-led agency of Madhya Pradesh state. It was constituted under the state and Union Public Service Commission Act-315, responsible for conducting civil services examinations and competitive examination. It makes direct recruitments to various civil services and departmental posts at state level.

Structure of The Examination:

The official syllabus for the MPPSC, or the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission examinations has been released. These exams are usually held for the different government jobs, such as Naib Tehsildar, Deputy Collector, Assistant Director and others.

The State Civil Service Examination held by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has 538 vacant posts in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The exam is conducted in two parts, the preliminary examination and the main examination.

As per the proposed calendar, the following exams are conducted yearly by MPPSC.

MPPSC Eligibility Criteria:

Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) is the authority to specify the eligibility criteria for state service exam 2019. Important information:

  1. The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  2. Male candidates with more than one wife (living) are not eligible
  3. Female candidates who have married a person already having a wife (living) are not eligible.
  4. Candidates claiming age relaxation/reservation in more than one category for the MP PSC Exam shall be entitled to only one concession, whichever is more beneficial.

    The Madhya Pradesh Public Service (MPPSC) sets the eligibility criteria for the various exams conducted by it. Check below, the MPPSC age limit, educational qualification for the State Service Exam 2019 and eligibility related information for other exams.

    The age limit for MP PSC State Service Exam 2019 for General and Reserved Categories:

    • Minimum age – 21 years
    • Maximum age – 35 years (For permanent residents of MP) and 30 years (For others)

MPPSC Qualifications:

MPPSC Qualification

The educational qualification for the PSC exam is:

  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from any recognised University or equivalent qualification
  • Candidates possessing professional and technical qualifications, which are recognized by the State Government as equivalent to a professional or technical degree

The PSC exam eligibility also includes Physical Measurements/Fitness for certain posts. Candidates have to undergo a medical test after the interview to be considered eligible.

MPPSC Domicile Rules for State Services Exam:
Candidates applying for MPPSC exam 2019 for State Services must check the following domicile rules –
  • The candidates must be the permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh.
  • The candidates must have completed his/ her higher education, i.e., 10th & 12th from Madhya Pradesh.
  • Only the candidates who satisfy the above domicile rules are eligible to register for MPPSC 2019 exam for state services.

Under the Prelims examination, there are two main papers, namely:

General Studies and General Aptitude Test. Both are objective (MCQs) type of paper.

Both the papers consist of 200 marks each, and candidates are allotted 120 minutes or 2 hours for each paper.

There will be no negative marking in MPPSC (State Service Exam) Prelims exam for wrong answers.

Under the MPPSC Mains Mains examination, there are five main papers, namely:

General Studies I
General Studies II
General Studies III
General Studies IV
Hindi Essay

While the first three papers on General Studies consist of 300 marks each, the fourth General Studies paper consists of 200 marks. Additionally, the Hindi paper also consists of 200 marks, while the Hindi essay paper is allotted with a maximum of 100 marks. Furthermore, all the papers, except the one on Hindi Essays, is allotted 180 minutes, or 3 hours to complete. Candidates are given 120 minutes, or 2 hours to complete the Hindi Essay paper.
